Ground Floor

The ground floor of the museum starts with photos depicting nomads and nomadic life. A simple wooden loom displayed gives us excellent idea about the kilim weaving. One of the interesting artefacts of the museum is the yurt or topak ev (round tents of Central Asia) which was used by the nomadic Turks in Central Asia. consist of wooden frame and felt, yurts has been great homes for tribal Turks.

Then one comes to section reserved for the with the dyes. Tribal people always obtained their dyes from the nature. the origin of the different colour are displayed with the help of photos. With the arrival of artificial dyes, most of vegetable dyes were not in use ny more and gradually they disappear without any written formulas. Currently, very serious research is done to obtain thee dyes from the nature and there is tendersy to return to the vegetable dyes.

After the artefacts and objects explaining the tribal and nomadic life, museum has also excellent rooms depicting a village house from Yuntdag, a house of wealthy from Bursa and rooms representing 19th century and 20th century houses and finally, objects used in the Turkish Bath and bridal room.
