CANAKKALE

Although they are known as‚ Canakkale or Dardanelles rugs, these rugs are made in the South of Canakkale in the home looms. Brick colour, blue and gold are popular colours in the area. Most prominent feature of Canakkale rugs is extensive use of geometric designs on them. There is extensive use of triangles, lozenges, squares on these carpets. Due to migrations from Caucasus, the rugs of Canakkale region offer great similarities with the Caucasus rugs.
